Kim’s Journey

Easter March 4, 2008

I must confess, I saw this on another blog, but thought I would pass it on here.  What are your Easter traditions?  I never had any growing up, therefore, I passed that same nothing on to my children.  However, in the last couple of years, I have bought them some type of candy.  L likes the mini cadbury eggs, A likes the cadbury cream eggs and C likes peeps.  F’s mom always has an Easter egg hunt in the afternoon, one for the adults and one for the kids.  There is always a prize egg and most of the eggs have pennies, nickles and dimes in them.  Due to her Parkinson’s she has difficulty getting up these days, but she will still have the plastic eggs with money for someone to hide for her, and she gives out the prizes with such pride that great-grandkids (age 2 and up) through grandkids and then to her kids (ages 60 and under) make it a well fought contest for finding the most eggs.  She enjoys it so much.

We always go to church, but that is it for my “tradition”.

What did you pass on to your children?
